Your therapist will help you navigate challenging cognitions (deep-rooted negative beliefs and automatic thoughts), emotional pains, and behavioural concerns. This is often referred to as a person's "learned patterns." Sometime what we were exposed to for years (example in childhood) leaves an imprint in the brain known as a schema that was adaptive (helpful) at one point but has become maladaptive (unhelpful) at a later point in life. Working through our schemas and patterns are important for learning about which part of us is authentic vs what parts of us are inauthentic.

Lucie Ritchie Bio

Lucie Ritchie is a Registered Psychotherapist and the founder of Heal Psychotherapy. Lucie specializes in trauma and performance by using evidenced-based neuroscientific modalities like Neurofeedback (LENS, InfraLow, and Traditional Neurofeedback) and the Neuro Affective Relational Model. Lucie takes a holistic, non-judgemental approach with her clients.

Trauma Therapy

Lucie focuses her work with survivors who have experienced identity loss, inauthentic personas, and childhood traumas, to name a few. She aims to support the re-integration of the self through nervous system regulation, trauma processing, and reconnection to one’s life and aspirations. Lucie can assist with the lasting impacts of past adversity that could be causing symptoms of PTSD or C-PTSD, including anxiety and depression, in the present. She works with individuals who struggle with authentic self-expression which is often due to prolonged childhood maltreatment.

Increasing Performance

Lucie works with athletes of all ages who are seeking to better perform in their chosen sport. Calming the brain and increasing undisrupted focus is essential to lower rumination during high focus tasks such as an important golf swing. Neurofeedback can be highly effective in increasing performance abilities.

Overall, Lucie operates from an attachment lens and assesses for unconscious patterns to hone-in on the possible areas of concerns.
